Picea Barbed Bialobok - interesting Polish cultivar, slow growing, irregularly shaped, up to 10 years, height about 2 m. The shoots are short, hard. Needles silvery blue, the early spring on new growth golden yellow.
This grade is particularly attractive and elegant looks in the spring due to a unique combination of golden-yellow color with blue young shoots of last year`s needles. Used for single and group plantings.
Plant care
Lighting. Shade-tolerant, but in good light, the color of the needles will be brighter. Young plants - need protection from the bright spring sun - possible sunburn.
Soil. It prefers well-drained acidic loamy or sandy soils.
Watering. In the hot season, especially spruce needs watering.
Planting. Do not allow soil compaction and water stagnation. Place planting should be away from groundwater. It is imperative to make a drainage layer in the form of sand or broken brick thickness of 15-20 cm. If planted spruce groups, the distance to the high spruces should be from 2 to 3 m. The depth of the landing pit 50-70 cm.
It is important that the root collar was at ground level. You can prepare a special soil mix: sheet and turf ground, peat and sand (2:2:1:1). Immediately after planting, the tree must be generously watered 40-50 liters of water. It is advisable to make fertilizer (100-150 g of NPK, kornevin 10 g per 10 liters, etc.).
